Community Infrastructure Levy (Neighbourhood) CIL 15%.
Applications for the CIL Neighbourhood Scheme 2022/23 are now open.
About the scheme
The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) allows Councils to raise funds from some developments to fund local or smaller infrastructure projects that are required by the community where development took place.
The Council’s scheme is open for bids from Community Groups as well as Councillors to fund community projects within the Borough. All bids must be sponsored and signed by a Councillor. Bids must be for a minimum of £10,000.
Successful local CIL applications for funding to date have included projects such as playground equipment, street lighting, footpath restoration and improvements to community facilities.
The amount of money available through the Neighbourhood Scheme will vary each year, depending upon how much new development is being built.
The process:
- Applicants will need to complete an application form and a business case for their bid.
- Your bid should include plans, confirmation of planning consent and work estimates or quotes.
- The closing date for 2022/23 applications is 31 May 2022
- Successful bids will be notified around mid-October once fully evaluated and assessed by The CIL Panel.
